Sara Micheletti is a documentary photographer based in Italy, trained in London after finishing high school. Over the years, she explored various photographic genres, but it was in visual storytelling within communities that she found her truest direction. Portraiture and documentary photography are, for her, tools to create empathetic connections, restore voices, and preserve collective memory.
In 2024, she carried out a photographic project in Posta Serina, a small mountain village tied to her maternal roots. There, she gently explored the social and environmental changes over time, sparking intergenerational dialogue among residents, institutions, and schools. Her work blends participant observation and artistic restitution, offering communities a mirror in which they can recognize themselves.
Convinced that art can act as a bridge between different worlds, Sara promotes creative participatory processes, especially with young people—often using smartphones as accessible tools. For her, photography is about listening, connecting, and imagining new possibilities. She collaborates with schools, engages with local territories, and envisions networks where art, local knowledge, and new skills intertwine to foster change.
