Matteo Maggiò is an architect and cultural curator based in Venice. After completing his studies and professional experiences between Venice and several international contexts, he chose to bring back to his city the tools, perspectives, and approaches learned abroad—applying them to the fields of civic engagement, storytelling, and community development.
He is the founder and President of Animare Venezia, a cultural association that promotes active citizenship and social innovation through public events, creative formats, and participatory processes. Since 2019, he has curated TEDx events in the Venice area—first as TEDxMestre, then evolving into TEDxVenezia, an internationally recognized platform for sharing ideas that matter.
As curator of TEDxVenezia, he defines the editorial direction of the events, selects speakers, and develops themes that spark dialogue within the community—ranging from sustainability to architecture, care, and urban futures. His work connects local energies with wider networks, aiming to make culture an engine for collective imagination and inclusive development."
