As well as director of the University Headquarters of Villena at the UA, between November 2012 and February 2017. Director and researcher in competitive, national and European R+D+i projects. Also in development cooperation of the UA with Cuba, Peru and Colombia. He has more than a hundred publications both in informative and scientific articles and in indexed journals, book chapters and books, with topics closely linked to local development, industrial and tourism activities, territorial innovation, participatory and community strategic planning, cinema and territory, cultural heritage and identity, rural development and depopulation.

To date, he has supervised 13 doctoral theses and is currently PI, together with Professor Carlos Manuel Valdés, professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid, of the FAERNES project Ref. PID2022-138080OB-I00 (ESPACIOS RURALES Y NATURALES EN EL CINE DE FICCION RODADO EN ESPAÑA. DOCUMENTARY REGISTRATION AND TERRITORIAL, TOURIST AND AUDIOVISUAL ANALYSIS), of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (2022, type B modality).
In teaching he has been appointed EXCELLENT professor (99 to 100 points out of 100) at the University of Alicante for the last four academic years 2020-2021 to 2023-2024.
