Quintín Correas is a professional with an outstanding career in the fields of law, regional development, and cultural and tourism project management. He holds a Law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and has extensive experience in coordinating and leading territorial development programs and tourism promotion initiatives at both national and international levels.
Since 1996, he has served as the Managing Director of the Association for the Integral Development of the La Vera Region (ADICOVER), leading the design, submission, and management of rural development programs, including the LEADER, PRODER I, and PRODER II programs, as well as the community initiatives ADAPT, EQUAL I, and EQUAL II. Currently, he manages the LEADER development program funded by EAFRD funds, contributing to the region's economic diversification and sustainability.
In the tourism sector, he has played a key role in promoting and boosting tourism in La Vera, directing the region’s Tourism Development Plan from 2005 to 2009. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Monitoring Commission for the Smart Tourism Destination (DTI) of La Vera and serves as the President of the Monitoring Commission for the region’s Tourism Sustainability Plan. His work has been instrumental in implementing innovative strategies for sustainable tourism and leveraging the region's natural and cultural heritage.
At an international level, he is the Director of the Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V, a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, which has enabled him to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in cultural route management. Additionally, he is a member of the expert group of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), contributing his expertise to tourism and cultural development projects.
His experience and knowledge have been shared in numerous academic and professional forums, participating as a speaker in courses, conferences, and seminars related to the environment, heritage, cultural tourism, and rural development. His leadership skills, strategic vision, and commitment to sustainable development make him a benchmark in his field.
